A book design that honors and celebrates the Gothic architecture in London

One of the oldest and most historically rich cities in the world, London, has left a legacy in many forms. One of which is its architectural heritage, built throughout the nearly two thousand years of London’s existence. The impact of the Gothic style continues to leave us inspired to this day whether it be in art and design or literature and entertainment media.

Gothic London is a book design created as an independent study during my masters program aimed towards tourists visiting London and history/architecture lovers. The book educates the audience on the history and medieval technological innovations of the architectural style Gothic. The reader takes a journey through the city of London visiting prominent Gothic sites with the help of maps to guide them.

The core values behind this project are to educate people on London’s architectural heritage, embrace and cherish our connection with the past, and appreciate the beauty and intensive labor of traditional craftsmanship.
